Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred. If not certified, you must obtain certification within two yearspreferredbut not to exceed 3 years. Education Required Degree in Nursing, Dietetics, or other related disciplines that meet the certification eligibility requirements for CDCES. Ifnursingdegree, BSN preferred. Master's degree in DieteticsrequiredifDieticianlicenseobtainedafter 01/01/2024. Experience Required 2 years of patient-oriented educational experience preferred with a broad range of knowledge on diabetes for age-appropriate population and its interrelation to co-existing health conditions. The Diabetes Educator plays a critical role in providing high-quality education and support to individuals living with diabetes. Key responsibilities include assessing patients' educational needs, developing personalized care plans, providing instruction on lifestyle changes, medication management, blood glucose monitoring, diabetes technology education, nutritional guidance, and offering emotional support. The educator will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other specialists, to deliver a holistic, patient-centered approach.
