About the Facility: Bon Secours/St. Mary's Hospital Bon Secours Mercy Health is one of the nation's 20 largest health care systems, with four hospitals and a longstanding presence in the Richmond market. NAPA provides services at St. Mary's Hospital, the local system's 391-bed flagship facility, centrally located in Richmond, and Memorial Regional Medical Center, a 225-bed facility located 12 miles outside of Richmond in suburban Hanover County. Over 16,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are done at St. Mary's each year, and over 10,000 surgeries are done at Memorial Regional. Anesthesiologist Responsibilities

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the anesthesia department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Anesthesiologist Requirements

• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia.
• Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology.
• Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent.
