Worker TypeRegularJob DescriptionSummaryAV Inc. is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to work in a dynamic high tempo environment delivering Mission First results! This position will manage, administer, and coordinate industrial security programs and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. The FSO will process and review personnel security clearances and maintain all security documentation, files, and clearance and suitability rosters in accordance with government requirements.The successful candidate will have an understanding and experience of the NISPOM, ICDs and general security requirements for the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintain all security documentation and files in accordance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements.Maintain Facility Security Clearance (FCL) documentation and submission in accordance with DCSA requirements.Maintain DD-254s including compiling and disseminating sub-DD254s.Manage and maintain documentation to include Standard Practice Procedures (SPP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Action PlansObtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agenciesProvide and document new employee security briefings, exit interviews and debriefing, investigate and report security violations and incidents.Participate and oversee annual refresher training to include preparing necessary documentation in support of the DCSA Security Vulnerability Assessments.Partners with internal and external clients to identify and address escalated contractual, personnel, facility and information security issues in accordance with the NISPOMProvide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.Advise personnel of their reporting requirements, both personal/administrative and compliance/incident-related reports.Interpret government policies for the development and implementation of security plans and procedures.Experience with the classification management process and classification guides associated with DoD and IC information.Ability to create and use Security Classification GuidesMaintain a working relationship with DCSA or other Federal Agencies and each contract's security office.Develop and maintain effective “Document Inventory and Control Program” for management of classified systems, media and documents.Participate in the development and execution of security education programs.Perform daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.Experience with AFRL and NASIC contracts and programmatic supportBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)Top Secret level security clearance is requiredAt least 3+ years of relevant experienceDCSA Facility Security Officer (FSO) CertificationKnowledge of the government security and information assurance processesExperience implementing the NISPOM and Executive Orders, to ensure security complianceDemonstrated ability to provide employees with personnel security guidance, consistent with the 13 adjudicative guidelines, to best assist them managing their clearancesExperience with protection requirements for handling and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII)Experience with DISS, NISS, NBIS and eAPPFamiliarity with SIMSAbility to communicate effectively with Corporate Executives and high-end government contacts to provide status updates, ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements and provide guidance on security related questions or concernsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExceptional organizational skillsPhysical DemandsAbility to work in an office environment (Constant)Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)Special RequirementsU.S. Citizenship Required.Clearance LevelTop SecretThe salary range for this role is:$80,500 - $123,000AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.ITAR Requirement:This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
