Pharmacists play a crucial role in delivering quality healthcare by ensuring accurate medication dispensing and providing expert counseling. This position offers an opportunity to lead and manage a pharmacy department within a retail setting in Newport, PA.
Location: Newport, PA
Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Variable Day/Afternoon shifts
Hours: 74 bi-weekly
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the store operations team to drive associate engagement and communicate company strategies to pharmacy staff.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all prescriptions by performing Drug Utilization Reviews and final quality assurance per state and federal regulations.
- Manage departmental profitability by promoting clinical programs, including immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Work closely with management to control inventory, analyze weekly sales, and order pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demands.
- Align department objectives with key performance metrics to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting with medical inquiries and healthcare counseling.
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff; oversee training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain security protocols within the pharmacy and ensure department cleanliness and organization.
- Handle customer concerns to build trust and maintain loyalty.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and utilize references to resolve prescription issues promptly.
- Oversee daily pharmacy tasks including cycle counts, inventory management, and managing will-calls.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
- Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Current Pennsylvania Immunization License
