Job Summary
Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuclear Radiology Specialist) Houston, Texas
The Nuclear Radiology Specialist performs routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures at the request of licensed independent practitioners for radiologist interpretation. This role combines scientific knowledge, technical expertise, patient interaction, and compassionate care to generate diagnostic information. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: M-F, 8:30-5:00, 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Technical diploma from a formal diagnostic radiology program; Certificate of Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) through the Texas Medical Board; CertificateNuclear Medical Technology (CNMT) through NMTCB or ARRT registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (N-ARRT); Basic Life Support (BLS); 3 years of radiology experience (any/all modalities)
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric experience (preferred, but not required)
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include performing appropriate quality control and routine nuclear medicine technical tasks, checking room stock daily to support continuous exam flow, maintaining inventory levels and updating supply lists as needed, confirming patient identity with approved identifiers, verifying pregnancy and informed consent statuses, providing age-appropriate patient care and preparation, assessing potential contraindications to procedures (including medication contraindications and patient risk factors), determining type and dose of contrast agent based on patient age, weight, and medical/physical status, responding to patient needs throughout the encounter, maintaining radiation safety and protection for self, patients, and others, and preparing, administering, and documenting medication-related activities in accordance with state regulations and facility policy. Equipment-related responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting required equipment (including automated processors and systems used for imaging/recording such as RIS and PACS).
