Production Lead

Floor LeadThe Floor Lead ensures an acceptable finished product for our customer. The person in this position is responsible for overseeing of the production line leaders and that the floor operates in a productive manner. The Floor Lead is also responsible for directing and training all new Line Leads in the production processes, safety and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).Essential Functions:Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and proceduresDemonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelinesSupervise and train all Line Leads in the production processServe as a backup to the Production SupervisorWork in conjunction with the Quality Department for positive production resultsConduct inspection of the product every hour or more frequently if the job is complex or critical in its design or useKeep abreast of the rates of the jobs running on the production lineResponsible for work packets being filled out correctly, accurately, and on timeMaintain a professional demeanor and performance in supervision of staffCommunicate with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are metPerform all computer functions in Warehouse Management System (WMS) to include: delete and complete orders, adjust LPN's, verify quantities produced, print and adjust PTS reports, and verify quantities producedProcess information and merchandise through computer systemUnderstand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirementsAssist the Line Leads with Item completion, ordering to the line, opening the shift, closing the shift, and reclaimInitiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goalsAssist in balancing Line Lead production hours, as well as verification of all analytical data at end of shiftIdentifies equipment needs and set up lines accordinglyRecommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productCoordinate manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditionsAnalyze and resolves work problems, or assist workers in solving work problemsPerform hourly checks during shift to maintain efficienciesMentor and develop line leads, and share expertise with othersResponsible for enforcing and obtaining all aspects of the line lead functionAssist the Line Leads in training Line WorkersPerform other duties as assigned by management/supervisorsPerformance Measures & Outcomes:Adherence to safety policies and proceduresQuality of workProduction goalsAdditional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerAbility to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the businessAbility to work on a rotating shift as neededAbility to effectively work in teamsAbility to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and peopleAbility to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of rolesAbility to lead/supervise large groups of associatesUnderstanding of quality standards, methods and reporting as requiredDemonstrate a "team player" demeanorStrong organizational and multi-tasking skillsAbility to plan in advance for production in assigned areasAbility to interpret instructions (both verbal and written)Ability to produce at a high level through assigned staffAbility to work with plant management for required resultsAbility to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the jobKnowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ability to operate WMS handheldsMust possess good interpersonal skillsMust be familiar with production line set up and efficienciesWork Experience:High School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 1 year of related experience or training in warehouse productionPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:Time spent in a production and/or warehouse settingOccasional lifting up to 25 lbsFrequent walking/standing requiredAll Menasha Packaging employees must conduct their work in a manner that complies with all legal standards and meets customer expectations.
