Grand Casino Mille Lacs Barista DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage REPORTS TO: Barista Supervisor Lead with Purpose. Serve with Impact. As a Barista - We Proudly Serve Starbucks®, you deliver consistently high-quality Starbucks beverages while creating a welcoming, Guest-focused experience. This role blends beverage craftsmanship, speed and accuracy, and strong operational discipline-helping the coffee venue run smoothly while upholding both Grand Casino service standards and We Proudly Serve Starbucks® brand requirements. What You'll Do Guest Experience + Service Excellence
- Greet Guests warmly, professionally, and with genuine hospitality.
- Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently; clarify preferences and answer menu questions with confidence.
- Prepare Starbucks coffee, tea, espresso beverages, and specialty drinks according to We Proudly Serve Starbucks® standards.
- Deliver fast, accurate, and friendly service in a high-volume environment.
- Receive payments and follow all cash-handling and internal control procedures.
- Address Guest questions and concerns appropriately, escalating issues when needed to ensure Guest satisfaction.
- Follow all Starbucks recipes, beverage specifications, and portion controls.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar, equipment, counters, and Guest areas.
- Clean and maintain espresso machines, brewers, and other equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
- Support inventory control, restocking, rotation, and product dating.
- Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and state health regulations.
- Assist with preparation, heating, and finishing of approved food items according to standards.
- Work cooperatively with Supervisors and fellow Food & Beverage team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the shift.
- Promote a workplace culture grounded in respect, teamwork, accountability, and mutual support.
- Provide assistance to other Food & Beverage outlets as operational needs require.
- Uphold all Grand Casino service standards and venue expectations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with uniform and grooming guidelines.
- Complete assigned duties with attention to safety, accuracy, and Guest impact.
- Have a naturally warm, welcoming, and Guest-focused demeanor.
- Enjoy fast-paced, hands-on work where accuracy and friendliness matter.
- Communicate clearly and positively with Guests and team members.
- Take pride in quality-every drink, every interaction, every shift.
- Are reliable, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a supportive team culture.
- Guests receive consistently high-quality beverages and positive service experiences.
- Drinks are prepared accurately, efficiently, and to Starbucks specifications.
- The workspace remains clean, organized, and compliant.
- Team members feel supported and operational communication remains strong.
- One year of prior barista or coffee shop experience preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Strong Guest service, communication, and basic math skills.
- Ability to learn and apply standardized operating procedures related to beverage preparation and service.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when responding to Guest needs or operational situations.
- Must be able to secure and maintain a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA)
- Compliance with all Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Use of hands to operate coffee equipment, tools, and POS systems.
- Exposure to hot surfaces, cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery floors, and moving equipment.
- Required use of designated uniform and PPE.
- Exposure to secondhand smoke and casino operational environments.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
