Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties, with an active IN or Compact RN license required.

Details

• Work setting is a large academic hospital OR environment with 24 OR beds and an average census of 70-80 patients
• Surgical specialties include General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection
• Circulator role required
• DaVinci XI robotic surgical system in use
• Cerner charting system used; prior experience required
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–17:30)
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (or fingerprint application package submitted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience, all within the last 3 years
• Experience in Circulating required; experience across multiple specialties including General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates may be accepted for this Surgical Services position at a different pay package
• Previous permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap in IU employment before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break before resetting eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
