Careers with Purpose.We are seeking a full-time Machinist I for our Hermitage, PA location. This non-exempt position could require OT, weekends and rotating shifts as needed.Qualifications:High School diploma or GEDValid Driver's LicenseThree or more years machining experience preferred but not requiredStrong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilitiesFamiliar with general computer applicationsExcellent organizational skillsMust be results oriented with a strong desire to succeedSolid verbal and written communication skillsProficient at operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipmentPrevious experience in a heavy manufacturing environmentAbility to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as neededResponsibilities Will Include:Prior machining abilityMechanical abilityPrevious manual grinding experience or equivalent educationExperience with micrometers, calipers and/or other precision measurement toolsPerform all work in line with safety rulesSet-up and operate one or more grinding machines on a production basis for the purpose of grinding the surface of manufacturing parts to specificationSet-up equipment according to specifications on product blueprint, with little or no supervisionStart and stop machineryVerify conformance of work to specification using preset gauges and micrometersReplace and dress with grinding wheelsAdjust controls in order to vary the dept. of cut, grinding speed and rate of feedAccurate and timely reporting of all production and quality related data and recordsMaintain the cleanliness and housekeeping responsibilities for the equipment and work areaMaintain an accurate count of production piecesSupport all productivity and process related goalsPerform other duties as assignedPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to see lifting equipment placement when loading, unloading, moving parts.Working Conditions:x - Manufacturing environment with some exposure to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts
