Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Job Summary Provides emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Performs rapid triage and assessment, initiates treatment protocols, and delivers care during resuscitation and other life-threatening emergencies. Prepares patients for admission, transfer or discharge with appropriate education and follow-up instruction. Education & Experience • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required• Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience: Required Licenses & Certifications • Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Required Key Responsibilities • Perform triage assessment and assign acuity for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Complete focused and ongoing assessments and reassessments across all age groups.
• Initiate and carry out emergency treatment protocols, including medication and IV therapy administration.
• Participate in resuscitation events, including Code Blue, stroke, sepsis and trauma activations.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patients for deterioration, escalating promptly.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation and provide discharge or transfer instructions.
