Groundskeeper 2

Join the team at Hersheypark Camping Resort, campground located a few miles down the road from Hersheypark amusement park that features log and deluxe cabins, tent sites, and partial and full-hookup sites.

This position is responsible for providing grounds maintenance, primarily the maintenance and manicuring of existing landscape, to all areas of the Hersheypark Camping Resort.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Operate lawn equipment to include manual and riding lawn mowers, string trimmers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, and manually operated lawn care equipment

• Pick up trash

• Trim trees and bushes, weed whack creek beds, sites, and fence lines

• Weed, water, and maintain flower beds

• Mow by operating both a manual and a zero turn mower

• Cleanup leaves to include raking and operating hand and backpack blowers

• Remove snow to include shoveling, plowing, and salting

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older

• Must have a valid driver’s license

• One year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrate organizational skills

• Display positive and professional employee and guest relations skills

• Capable of working alone and as a team. Must be a self-starter

• Ability to handle multiple priorities at once

• Ability to understand instructions, both written and verbal

• Must be able or willing to learn how to operate all facets of grounds and leaf/snow removal equipment

• Must be able or willing to learn how to operate forklifts and tractors

Job Demands:

• Ability to stand, squat, walk, sit, and lift (90 % of shift)

• Physical requirements include complete mobility and good physical conditioning, good hearing and vision, and ability to tolerate heat and adverse weather conditions

• Proper footwear must be provided by employee - uniform shirts will be supplied

• Must be able to push/pull/lift a maximum of 60 lbs.

• Exposure to machinery, lawn equipment, and fuels

• Ability to safely use chemicals in and around the workplace meeting OSHA standards
