The Activities Director is responsible for developing, conducting, and maintaining a diversified program of activities at the community facility to involve all residents in the following components of the Activities Program: recreational, educational, religious, physical and intellectual. The role includes overseeing the Activities Assistant(s) and volunteers and serving as an active member of the facility's Leadership Team. Responsibilities Create, plan, and oversee all activities and programs for residents of the community Develop a weekly and monthly activity schedule for residents Ensure that each resident of the community has an individualized activities program Coordinate the calendar and schedule with the activities team and residents Maintain department activity logs and documentation in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations Coordinate and lead resident and family councils Practice and communicate resident-directed/centered care on a daily basis as it relates to the Activities department Develop a plan of care for each resident and participate in the care plan meetings Promote participation in scheduled events and activities Work with the resident and family councils, as well as interact with vendors, other health care professionals, and the community at large Manage and direct a team of the community's volunteers Manage and direct a team of Activities Assistants and mentor employees through performance improvement plans as needed Seek vendors for outside entertainment bookings and facilitate all vendor management Qualifications Graduate of a state approved Activities Director course or be a recreational therapist At least one year working in a long-term care environment Possess any certifications/licensures as required by the state to practice in long-term care and maintain professional licensure and CEU requirements Valid Class D/Chauffeur driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past two years CPR certification is required We are an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applications without regard to race, marital status, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
