Product Stewardship Associate

Product Stewardship Associate Provides product stewardship support for products produced by Kaneka North America, LLC in Texas and other international locations. The role serves both internal teams and external customers, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and supporting safe product use throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities Handle FDA related work: interpret food contact regulations; prepare Food Contact Notifications; coordinate FDA opinion letters; prepare food contact application statements; draft migration testing protocols; manage Drug Master Files for polymer products used in pharmaceutical packaging. Prepare and maintain GHS Safety Data Sheets for KNA products and intermediate materials; prepare GHS SDSs for KAH Business entity products as needed. DOT: Prepare GHS labels; prepare shipping documents for hazardous materials; specify packaging for hazardous materials; support DOT related issues for other KAH business entities; issue and maintain training documents for shipping hazardous and non-hazardous materials. TSCA: Investigate TSCA status; prepare Pre‑Manufacture Notices; prepare polymer exemption reports and PERCs; maintain records for PMNs and PERCs; prepare end‑of‑year reporting documents; support other KAH business entities; prepare annual TSCA 12b reports to the EPA; oversee other required reports. Customs: Determine correct HTS classifications; pursue tariff reduction opportunities; assist NAFTA compliance (prepare COOs); assist research and approval of one‑time imports and exports; maintain KASI database; support other KAH business entities. NSF: File information requests to assist KNA or KAH products with new applications. ADA: Assess building projects for ADA considerations as needed. Canadian NSN: Prepare New Substance Notifications to introduce new products into Canada. EU Plastic Directive: Assist certification of Kaneka products for food contact use under REACH; prepare Food Certification documents for EU compliance. Other chemical control laws: Assist in registering Kaneka products in other countries as needed. Maintain documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance. Assist customers in maintaining compliance while using KNA or KAH products. Assess product stewardship issues and risk related to M&A activities and advise management. Support new business ventures and lead alignment of new venture stewardship with KAH or KNA requirements. Qualifications Bachelor of Chemistry (required). 7–10 years of product stewardship or related functions in the chemical industry with polymers (required).
