Job Description

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including shipping and receiving, preparing panels for shipment, and completing necessary paperwork. You will measure and cut wood as needed and may operate a table saw. The role requires the use of hand and power tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows programs for shipping. You will pack and wrap large boxes and must be able to lift heavy items. Forklift operation will be required once certification is obtained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shipping and receiving tasks.
• Prepare panels for shipment and ensure all paperwork is completed.
• Measure and cut wood as needed, potentially using a table saw.
• Utilize hand and power tools effectively.
• Use Microsoft Office and other Windows programs for shipping processes.
• Pack and wrap large boxes, lifting heavy items as required.
• Operate a forklift after obtaining certification.

Essential Skills

• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Minimum of 6 months of forklift experience.
• Ability to read a ruler accurately.
• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Proficiency in wrapping skids and labeling products.
• Competence in using computers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical experience is a plus.
• Experience in machine operating is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work schedule is 1st Shift, from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. The facility is a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. Despite its small size, with only 20 employees on the manufacturing floor, it operates efficiently with a single shift. Safety glasses and steel-toed boots are required, although ear protection is not necessary due to the low noise levels.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berkeley, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
