Risk Manager – Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Shifts (Days, Nights, Mids available) | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care for patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies including traumas, strokes, STEMIs, cardiac arrests, and procedural sedation
• Perform and assist with clinical procedures including IV placement, EKG acquisition, and suturing assistance
• Manage a patient assignment of 4–5 patients simultaneously, prioritizing care based on acuity in a 23-bed Level 2 Trauma Center that sees approximately 110 patients per 24-hour period
• Utilize EPIC ASAP for clinical documentation along with Philips monitors, Accudose medication dispensing systems, and Alaris pumps
• Transport and transfer patients between units as needed
• Participate in structured skills orientation and department-specific preceptorship during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (Stroke), and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency in patient assessments, IV placement, medication administration, and multi-patient management
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high patient volumes in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level 2 Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with EPIC ASAP charting system
• Experience with high-acuity patients including trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies
