Overview Position Summary: Emerging authority in one or more scientific/technical areas. Plans and conducts advanced scientific assignments requiring leadership and mastery of specialized techniques. Responsibilities Key Accountabilities Essential Functions: Applies scientific method and experimental design in problem solving. Uses scientific expertise to provide solutions to problems which require technical expertise. Applies expertise in ingenuous and creative ways. Defines mid-to-long term objectives. Able to implement plan to accomplish objectives. May direct the work of other level scientists. Maintains accurate and precise documentation. Writes reports and technical summaries and may represent company to outside organizations. May prepare technical papers for publication and/or publication. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of scientific literature and competitive products. Defines broad scope and critical elements of a project, and selects approaches to be taken. Handles broad assignments and objectives under minimum direction to accomplish short- term goals. Performs other related duties as position may require. Budget managed (if applicable): N/A Internal Networking/Key Relationships: To be determined based on department needs Skills & Capabilities: Technical and Functional Skills Plan Implementation Adherence to long term objectives Self-driven Qualifications Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position: Duties require broad use and application of scientific principles, theories, and concepts in field of expertise. This may be acquired through completion of a Ph.D. degree in a scientific discipline, or equivalent. Professional experience is a plus. Must demonstrate the ability to perform all duties and responsibilities at the Scientist II level. Frequent inter-organizational and outside contacts. May represent company to outside organizations on technical issues. International Mobility: Required: no Travel Requirements: The annual base salary range for this role is currently $145,000 to $180,000. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs. This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
