We’re committed to quality, innovation, and providing a clean, well‐organized workplace where skilled machinists can thrive.We are currently seeking an experienced **Walter CNC Set‐Up Operator** to join our team.**Position Overview**The Walter CNC Set‐Up Operator is responsible for setting up, proving out, operating, and performing program adjustments on Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines to produce precision round cutting tools. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands‐on experience grinding carbide and/or HSS tools to print.**Key Responsibilities*** Set up and operate Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders (e.g., Helitronic series) for round tool production* Read and interpret blueprints, tool drawings, and engineering specifications* Load programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits to ensure tool geometry accuracy* Perform first‐piece inspection and in‐process checks using appropriate measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical equipment, etc.)* Monitor machine performance and tool quality, making necessary adjustments* Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles* Troubleshoot machine issues and work with maintenance/engineering as needed* Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records* Follow all safety procedures and hazard reporting and company quality standards**Qualifications*** **Required:** + Experience setting up and operating Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines + Strong understanding of round tool geometry (end mills, drills, step tools, etc.) + Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T + Proficiency using precision measurement tools + Mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills + Ability to work independently and in a team environment* **Preferred:** + Experience with Walter/HMC software and/or Siemens control interfaces + Background in manufacturing carbide tools + Basic understanding of G‐code + Previous experience in a high‐mix, low‐volume tool grinding environment**Physical Requirements*** Ability to stand for extended periods* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally* Manual dexterity for handling small precision parts**What We Offer*** Competitive pay based on experience* Health, dental, and vision benefits* Paid time off and holidays* Gender Neutral Paid Parental Leave – 14 weeks at 90% of wage* Retirement plan options – 5% employer contribution **plus** a 3% employer match on 6% employee contribution* Opportunities for skill development and internal advancement* Supportive team environmentSeco Tools, a subsidy of Sandvik is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
