We're looking for a somewhat experienced cook to join our scratch kitchen team.
We're a busy, independently owned restaurant with a small kitchen, a pretty diverse menu, and a lot of food made from scratch. We take our food seriously, but we're not interested in making the job more complicated than it needs to be.
We're looking for someone who actually loves to cook and knows how. Someone who's comfortable working with fresh ingredients, understands basic cooking techniques, knows their way around a kitchen, and can keep up.
What You'll Be Doing- Preparing food in large quantities from scratch, following our recipes and standards.
- Making soups, sauces, dressings, proteins, and other house-made components.
- Keeping your station clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Working efficiently without sacrificing quality or consistency.
- Following proper food safety and sanitation practices -must have food handler certification.
- Helping your coworkers and pitching in wherever needed.
- Previous experience cooking in a professional kitchen, ideally one that makes most of its food from scratch.
- Solid knife skills and a good understanding of basic cooking techniques.
- The ability to follow recipes accurately and work independently.
- Good time management and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Reliability, a good attitude, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking and takes pride in the food they make.
