About the Position AHI Supply is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our Roanoke warehouse team. This role is responsible for safely operating sit-down forklifts to receive, stage, load, and move construction materials while maintaining accuracy, organization, and a strong focus on safety. Schedule Standard work hours are Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or until all work is completed. Due to the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines and business needs. Employees will be notified in advance when additional hours are needed and will be compensated accordingly for all overtime worked. Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts to move, stage, and load construction materials Load and unload customer vehicles, company trucks, and inbound deliveries Pick, band, wrap, and stage customer orders for will-call pickup and scheduled deliveries Verify materials against tickets, bills of lading, and transfer paperwork to ensure accuracy Inspect loads for stability, securement, and correctness before release Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns immediately Assist with tarping and un-tarping flatbed trailers as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment, including sweeping, pallet wrapping, and debris removal Follow all OSHA regulations, AHI Supply safety policies, and Roanoke site-specific procedures Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience Experience operating sit-down forklifts Ability to regularly lift and move materials exceeding 75 pounds, with or without assistance Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and work on your feet for extended periods Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse and yard environment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Reliable attendance and a team-oriented attitude Minimum age requirement: 18 years old Benefits Paid time off (PTO) benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Employer-paid life insurance 401(k) plan with company match Paid holidays Annual performance reviews Quarterly employee appreciation events Opportunities for advancement Equal Employment Opportunity AHI Supply is an equal opportunity employer.
