Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Potential to float to postpartum and pediatrics Description: Local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for a travel contract. Position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend coverage is required, with every other weekend. No on-call shifts are required. Travelers may float between units, including postpartum for couplet care. Couplets will be stable and orientation will be provided for those without couplet experience. Floating to pediatrics is possible with a 1:3 patient ratio for stable conditions such as bili babies and feeder/grower issues. No sick or respiratory patients will be encountered. A block schedule cannot be accommodated at this time. Pending licenses are accepted, but a quick start is preferred. All requested time off must be included with the application. Facility covers 32 weeks gestation and higher for NICU cases. Common patient conditions include RDS, sepsis, NAS, and hypoglycemia. IVs are generally performed by nursing staff, with backup resources available. Short-term intubation is available, with long-term transport arranged. Facility type is short-term acute care with a total of 325 staffed beds. Electronic charting is utilized. Patient demographics include adolescents, infants, and adults, with an average of 160 births per month. Unit statistics include 27 rooms available for patient care. Interdisciplinary support services include respiratory, social services, and pharmacy among others. References covering one year are required during the compliance process prior to employment start date. Modules will require an average of 16 hours of non-billable time spent pre-start and annually for completion.
