RN-Clinical Coordinator, Surgical Services

It’s more than a career, it’s a calling. Mo-SSM Health St.Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Coordinator to support daily operations in Surgical Services. Job Summary This role assists with staffing, workflow coordination, patient flow, and serves as a clinical resource to the perioperative team. The coordinator delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting, supports clinical education, and ensures high quality care through evidence-based practice. Schedule Details Shift Length: 8 or 10 hours Start Time: 6:00 AM (6:30 AM possible) Workweek: 8‑hour shifts Monday-Friday; 10‑hour shifts rotating scheduled day off On‑Call: Required weekday/weekend coordinator on‑call rotation; weekend coordinator on‑call rotation Qualifications Surgery experience – required RN license required Educator experience preferred Leadership/charge experience a plus Responsibilities Coach in assigned area using observation, demonstration, and reflection to promote quality support Facilitate professional collaborative groups locally and with communities of practice focusing on capacity building Provide direct on‑site observation, evaluation, individual and/or group consultation, and document review Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and internal/external quality assurance activities Liaise with clinical education department on behalf of surgical/procedural services Support department skills competency of team members and professional development Perform scrub functions – selecting and handling instruments and supplies, preparing operating rooms and equipment Perform circulating functions – monitoring, recording, communicating patient condition, managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedure Apply evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing care based on patient needs and scope of service Demonstrate professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model Use ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to evolving health and nursing needs Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner Perform other duties as assigned Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing. Minimum of three years of experience. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech and oral communication Constant standing, walking, frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
