Job Title
Summary The Success Coach works as a student-centered professional dedicated to fostering academic persistence, engagement, and completion. The Success Coach provides holistic support in a proactive manner, reaching out to conduct conversations with credit, non-credit, and workforce students to assess goals, progress, and strategies needed to enhance their success by helping students navigate the complexities of higher education through proactive outreach and resource referral. The Coach assists students in identifying next step strategies and enlists success partners including Academic Advisors, Career Development, Educational Support Services, Student Life, Counselors, Community Resources, Financial Aid, faculty, and others. The Coach makes direct referrals to these professionals for the specific expertise/assistance needed to strengthen persistence, resilience, academic progress, academic and career planning, goal achievement, self-management, and negotiation of life challenges related to work, family, and college. The Coach, carefully and continuously, assesses each student's needs and monitors their progress. The Coach actively engages the student in their success planning, enlists assistance, follows-up to learn the outcomes of all referrals, and continues working with the student in this manner to support degree completion and preparation for achieving their career/ transfer goals. Position reports directly to the Dean of Academic Support and Success. Evening/weekend hours, remote, and travel to other college and community sites required.
Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week. (Evening/weekend hours and travel to other college and community sites required.)
Salary Range: Instructor Rank - $48,000 to $63,142 Assistant Professor Rank $49,637 to $67,448 (Must meet academic preparation, and/or equated experience, or doctorate degree to be hired at the Assistant Professor rank.)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Fosters persistence and completion by maintaining a caseload of students created by A3 alert system, faculty, administration, and other staff referrals.
- Implements "intrusive" strategies to identify at-risk students and provide early intervention to improve retention.
- Monitors progress of students in caseload with check-ins by email, text messaging, and phone, and through scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students' questions, concerns, and needs with compassion, respect, encouragement, and empathy.
- Tracks student interactions, progress, and outcomes; maintains accurate records in line with confidentiality and compliance guidelines by using college systems to measure the effectiveness of success initiatives.
- Conducts responsive coaching through individual or group sessions that help students assess their own performance and develop their own academic success plans
- Assists students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success; motivates students to practice self-regulation and take ownership of their academic success
- Refers students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborates with others to monitor and accelerate the academic progress of the students referred
- Connects students to appropriate campus and community resources, such as tutoring, financial aid, counseling, learning specialists, disability support services, and career services to address a range of student needs.
- Serves as a point of contact for students seeking assistance and provide information about policies, resources, and college processes.
- Works collaboratively with faculty, advisors, counselors, and other learning support services faculty to create a coordinated network of support for students.
- Assists other departments with outreach efforts regarding student success in admissions, appointments, registration, bill payment, orientation, and technology.
- Works alongside students with incomplete grades to successfully finish course work in a timely manner.
- Serves on college committees relevant to success and retention.
- Contributes to the college's accreditation efforts, including the overall Middle States accreditation and any program -specific accreditation standards.
- Performs duties that are unique to specific department or college.
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
- A minimum of three years proven experience teaching in a classroom
- One year assisting college students in an advising, counseling, or academic coaching position at an institution of higher education; OR one year employed as a case manager in a human service organization
- Familiarity with the mission of a comprehensive community college.
- Ability to be a productive team member in a dynamic environment.
- Outgoing, engaging interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent, proactive communication and organizational skills, the ability to provide intentional and timely feedback, understanding of academic processes, ability to learn and use administrative software, and ability to interact positively and proactively with students, faculty, and staff.
- The ability to anticipate needs and follow through until problem is solved.
- Individual should be creative and resourceful, with the ability to establish collaborative relationships.
- Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation; initiative, motivation, self-direction, customer service, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.
- Must be able to travel to all college and community sites.
- Knowledge of Canvas, Banner web, Achieve Appointment Manager, and CRM Advise
