Heavy Equipment Operator
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with strong excavation skills to join our team. This role is focused on deep trench work and underground utility installation, requiring precision, safety awareness, and proven field experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate large excavators such as CAT 336, CAT 349, John Deere 350, or larger
- Perform deep trench excavation (up to 15 feet or more)
- Safely install and remove trench boxes and shoring systems
- Set and work around manholes and underground utility structures
- Follow all trench safety standards and excavation best practices
- Coordinate with crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating large excavators (CAT / John Deere 350 class or above)
- Hands-on experience with trench boxes, manholes, deep excavation (15+ feet)
- Ability to safely place and remove trench boxes
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and excavation procedures
- Reliable and able to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in underground utilities
- OSHA certification (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work on fast-paced job sites
