Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician

Full-time

Rise Technical

Lead HVAC Technician

$50–$60 / Hour + Overtime + Full Benefits + 401(k) + PTO + Technical & Leadership Progression + Company Vehicle

Macedonia, Ohio (Commutable from: Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Parma, Solon, Hudson, and surrounding Northeast Ohio areas)

Are you an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician looking to take the technical lead on complex retrofit and replacement projects?

On offer is a $50–$60 per hour package with overtime, full benefits, a 5% 401(k) contribution, and a genuine pathway into senior field leadership, project management or operations.

You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your technical expertise on complex commercial equipment while taking greater responsibility for planning, execution, troubleshooting and startup. You’ll also mentor less-experienced technicians and have the autonomy to make decisions in the field rather than constantly working under supervision.

The company is an established commercial mechanical contractor with a team of around 20 technicians, providing commercial HVAC and refrigeration services. With continued growth, they are looking to add a highly experienced technician who can become a key technical leader within the team.

This role would suit a senior commercial HVAC technician or experienced lead technician who wants to take greater ownership of complex projects, develop their leadership capability and progress toward a senior field, project management or operations position, without giving up the hands-on technical work that got them here.

The Role

  • Take the technical lead on commercial retrofit and replacement projects involving boilers, chillers, large RTUs, split systems, pumps and piping
  • Lead by example as a hands-on working crew leader, planning daily work, assigning responsibilities and solving installation or startup issues in the field
  • Coordinate equipment setting, rigging, cranes, piping, electrical, controls and commissioning while maintaining responsibility for workmanship, productivity and schedule
  • Review drawings, specifications and submittals, identify field issues and scope changes, and communicate directly with PMs, customers, vendors and other trades
  • Mentor and develop less-experienced technicians while building the leadership experience required for future progression

The Candidate

  • Proven commercial HVAC installation and retrofit experience, including larger commercial equipment
  • Proven ability to independently lead equipment replacements, retrofits and crews, while remaining hands-on
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
