Role Description The Litigation Insurance Defense Associate (3–5 years ) will handle a variety of insurance defense matters, including case assessment, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, conducting legal research and analysis, and attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and conferences as required. The associate will communicate regularly with clients, carriers, and internal teams to provide case updates, evaluate exposure, and develop litigation strategies aligned with client goals. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, working closely with supervising partners and colleagues to manage a caseload efficiently and professionally.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of insurance and insurance brokerage concepts, particularly in the context of litigation and coverage issues.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, carriers, courts, and colleagues.
• Understanding of finance-related considerations in insurance defense, including exposure analysis, reserves, and cost-effective case management.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Florida, in good standing.
• 3–5 years of experience in litigation, preferably focused on insurance defense, personal injury, or related practice areas.
• Proficiency in legal research tools, case management systems, and standard office software.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Demonstrated professionalism, ethical judgment, and commitment to inclusive, collaborative work environments.
