Job Title: Production Associate – Cable and Harness Assembly Job Description

This role focuses on cable and harness assembly within an interconnect production team, supporting long-term manufacturing of electromechanical products. You will work at an individual workstation in a clean electronics facility, performing precise hand soldering, assembly, and documentation tasks while contributing as an active member of a collaborative production team.

• Function as an active and contributing member of the production team in the cable and harness assembly area.
• Perform hand soldering of wires to electrical connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs), following established procedures and quality standards.
• Assemble electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies as required, using appropriate tools and instructions.
• Review, follow, and complete required production documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and job travelers.
• Update job status accurately in ABAS systems or other production tracking tools as required.
• Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and completeness, and perform basic production, assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks as needed.
• Use small hand tools, including soldering irons and solder extractor tools, safely and effectively.
• Follow ESD (electrostatic discharge) and soldering procedures and training requirements when applicable.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, including proper handling of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Suggest ideas to improve efficiency, workflow, and processes within the production area.
• Comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions, including moderately complex assembly instructions and blueprints.
• Perform related duties as required to support overall production goals and timelines.
• Stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to complete assigned tasks and handle materials.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds in a safe manner.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Accurate visual acuity for color and depth perception, with vision sufficient to measure in fractions of an inch.
• Manual dexterity to handle small hand tools, including soldering irons and other hand tools used in assembly.
• Ability to read and understand moderately complex assembly instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal assignments and instructions.
• Capability to work effectively as a team member in a diverse production environment.
• Advanced soldering and repair/rework skills for wires, connectors, and PCB-related work.
• Ability to use solder extractor tools safely and correctly.
• Basic computer skills with accurate data entry, including updating job status in production systems such as ABAS.
• Good math skills, with the ability to count, measure, and interpret measurements accurately.
• Production and general assembly experience, including working with electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to follow blueprints and technical documentation for assembly tasks.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the job.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
• Use of vision, speech, hearing, smell, and touch as part of daily tasks in a production environment.

• Experience in hand soldering various types of terminations, including solder cups, J-hook, and through-hole connections.
• Proficiency in on-the-job training (OJT) processes in at least two production areas.
• Successful completion of OJT crimp training.
• Successful completion of ESD and solder training, if and as required by the role.
• Comfort working with electronics manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with inspection, packaging, and general production practices.
• Ability to suggest and communicate process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Interest in long-term growth within the interconnect (cable and harness) area rather than transferring to other departments.

This position is based in a clean electronics manufacturing facility with individual workstations where employees complete their portion of cable, harness, and electromechanical assemblies. The production environment is generally moderately noisy and involves routine use of hand tools, soldering equipment, and computer-based production systems such as ABAS. Employees must wear a smock and shoe straps while on the production floor to support ESD control and maintain product quality. The role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as lifting up to 30 pounds. Sensory requirements include frequent use of vision, speech, hearing, smell, and touch in day-to-day tasks. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift within a structured and safety-focused production setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Meridian, ID.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
