About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Float Pool Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience - Prefer prior neuro experience Description: The position requires floating within the assigned zone. Traveling clinicians are responsible for obtaining suitable housing within a specified radius. Orientation is mandatory for all hired clinicians. Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance. Weekend shifts range from 6 to 9 over a 6-week schedule. Traveler flexibility is crucial to fill scheduling gaps. All time-off requests must be submitted prior to the assignment start date. Nurse-to-patient ratios will typically be 1:5-6 based on acuity levels. Charge nurses have designated responsibilities and may take on a patient assignment based on necessity. The environment will include adult and geriatric populations with various medical needs. Frequent patient diagnoses include cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, and more. Nurses may be required to manage and titrate infusions. Various types of respiratory equipment will be utilized on this unit. Assignments may vary based on facility needs and acuity levels. There are opportunities to float across different facilities within the designated zone. The cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during the assignment. All charting will be conducted using the electronic health record system.
