Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Operator Job Description This role involves operating a propane or diesel sit-down forklift in an outdoor concrete yard to safely load and move heavy pallets onto trucks. The position combines skilled forklift operation with general labor tasks and a portion of customer service and basic computer work. Responsibilities Operate a propane or diesel sit-down forklift to move and stack pallets in a concrete yard environment. Load pallets onto trucks, typically stacking two pallets at a time with a combined weight of approximately 5,000 pounds. Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading pallets and other materials as required. Work safely and efficiently in an outdoor yard, maintaining awareness of surroundings and following all safety procedures. Complete general labor tasks associated with concrete yard operations as needed. Handle customer-facing interactions in a professional and courteous manner, providing customer service support on site. Perform basic computer work related to customer service, documentation, or order processing for approximately 25–35% of daily duties. Inspect forklift and equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in the yard and loading zones. Essential Skills Considerable experience operating a sit-down forklift in an outdoor environment. Proficiency operating propane and diesel sit-down forklifts. Strong material handling skills, including safe loading and unloading of heavy pallets. Ability to work effectively in a concrete yard setting and handle general and skilled labor tasks. Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with customers. Basic computer skills to perform customer service and documentation tasks for approximately 25–35% of the role. Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate heavy equipment with a strong focus on risk prevention. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an outdoor industrial or yard environment. Background in general labor or concrete work. Strong communication skills for customer-facing interactions. Ability to multitask between equipment operation, labor tasks, and customer service responsibilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Littleton, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
