LINE COOK & JR SOUS CHEF

Line Cook & Jr. Sous ChefUpscale fine dining restaurant located in Downtown Mount Dora that focuses on delivering fresh and local ingredients in culinary dishes. In this position, you will work at the restaurant and working off site preparing food for catering events.Position Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare food items according to company recipesMust follow company procedures, food & sanitary procedures, safety procedures, and plating execution to ensure consistency, as well as, presentationMust be able to follow necessary procedures to accommodate guests with allergies.Keep supervision on food quality and guest service issuesCommunicates with team members about ticket times and dish modificationsPrepare work station for food service, including prep, at the beginning and end of each shiftMust follow kitchen cleaning proceduresMay perform additional tasks given by the SupervisorQualification Requirements:Must have strong focus in guest satisfactionWork in a hands-on fast-paced environment that requires multi-taskingAbility to stand and walk throughout the entire shiftCommunication skills to ensure clear communication between team membersAdding, subtracting, multiplying, and division in all units of measure and common fractions and decimalsUnderstand written recipes, directions, prep lists, etc.Exposure to heat, open flames, smoke, cleaning chemicals, and cold temperaturesMust be able to work under pressure and resolve issues and questions with management teamWork with sharp objects and cooking equipmentEducation Requirements:Culinary experienceEquivalent formal educationCompensation:Line Cook – $14/hr-$18/hrJr. Sous Chef – $18/hr-$22/hr – depending upon skill level and experiencePhysical Demands:While performing duties on shift, a team member may be required to lift or move objects up to 50 poundsWill be required to stand for long duration of time, walk, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and armsRequires the ability to see close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perceptionBenefits:Retirement - Simple IRA retirement with company match up to 3%Paid Vacation – Can be earned after 1 year
