PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Shift Supervisor to lead production operations in our wire drawing mill. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing activities, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, promoting a safe work environment, and leading a team of 12–14 employees. This position requires a hands-on leader with manufacturing experience and the ability to effectively manage personnel during overnight operations.

salary: $65,000 - $70,000 per year
shift: Second
work hours: 3 PM - 11 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of 12–14 production employees during third-shift operations.
• Ensure production schedules and daily output targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor wire drawing processes and equipment performance to maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Coordinate shift activities, work assignments, and employee coverage.
• Conduct shift start-up and handoff meetings.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and work rules.
• Train, coach, and develop employees.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, attendance, and safety records.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and management teams.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time

Skills

• Production Supervisor (5 years of experience is preferred)
• Manufacturing Supervisor (5 years of experience is preferred)
• Wire Drawing Mill Experience (3 years of experience is preferred)
• Metal Manufacturing Experience (3 years of experience is preferred)
• Steel Processing Experience (3 years of experience is preferred)
• Lean Manufacturing (5 years of experience is preferred)
