Pharmacy Manager

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management Act as a role model and lead by example for the pharmacy team. Oversee bench shifts, create and manage pharmacy schedules, and maintain a flexible schedule for business needs. Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and address staffing gaps. Clinical & Patient Care Deliver safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and counseling. Provide immunizations and support pharmacy technicians in learning immunization procedures. Offer clinical services such as COVID/Flu immunizations, hormonal contraception, and other permissible pharmacist‑delivered services. Operations & Compliance Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and CVS policies. Maintain inventory best practices, especially for cold‑chain products. Use pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Staff Development & Training Conduct onboarding for new technicians and pharmacists and ensure timely completion of required training and licensure. Partner with the Store Manager to build a talent pipeline of cross‑trained pharmacy staff. Create a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion. Business Intelligence & Continuous Improvement Review operational reports, identify gaps, and develop action plans. Drive initiatives to improve workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years experience as a Pharmacist. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work across the market in other locations based on business needs. Physical Demands Mobile and remain upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items. Reach overhead, stretch, and move items; use fingers repetitively. Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; 10 lbs. frequently; negligible force for most tasks. Visual acuity required for transcribing, reading, and detailed inspection. Pay Range Typical pay range is $65.00–$85.00 per hour or equivalent full‑time annual salary, depending on experience, education, and geography.
