Geotechnical Project Engineer

Work Model:

On-Site
Full-Time Hours

What You Will Do:

Manage and execute geotechnical engineering projects, including proposal development, field explorations, data review, analysis, and report writing
Lead geotechnical analyses related to earthwork, foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stability, and pavement design for diverse public and private projects
Supervise and mentor staff engineers and technical personnel, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity in deliverables
Collaborate with contractors, clients, and internal teams to define project scope, schedules, and budgets
Prepare detailed proposals with scope, fees, and timelines, supporting business development efforts

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Iowa
Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
5+ years of geotechnical consulting experience
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Proven leadership and mentoring experience with technical staff

Nice to Have Skills:

Master of Science in geotechnical engineering
Prior experience interacting directly with clients and preparing proposals
Familiarity with regional soil conditions and construction practices
Proficiency with boring log and laboratory testing software, as well as Office 365 tools
