Project Manager / Estimator

Summary We are representing an established, employee-owned mechanical contractor seeking a talented Project Manager / Estimator to join their growing team. This hybrid role is ideal for a candidate who brings both preconstruction estimating skills and project execution experience in the HVAC/mechanical space. This contractor self-performs HVAC and piping scopes across a variety of commercial sectors, offering a stable pipeline of work and a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Estimation & Preconstruction Prepare accurate conceptual and hard-bid estimates for HVAC and mechanical scopes Perform material and labor takeoffs from plans and specifications Solicit and analyze subcontractor/vendor quotes for buyout and budgeting Participate in site visits and pre-bid walks Assist with design-build estimating and early-stage budgeting Support value engineering and scope development in coordination with clients Project Management Lead awarded projects from preconstruction through closeout Manage client relationships, contracts, and subcontractor coordination Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation Track cost, schedule, and manpower performance throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate with field teams for installation sequencing and equipment delivery Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with jobsite expectations Preferred Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in HVAC estimating and/or mechanical project management Strong knowledge of mechanical systems – sheet metal, piping, hydronic, chilled/hot water Proficiency with takeoff and project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, QuoteSoft, MS Excel, etc.) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and mechanical plans Strong written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred Project Types Include Commercial office, healthcare, and tenant improvements Design-build mechanical system retrofits Educational, municipal, and institutional projects Clean rooms, labs, and high-performance HVAC environments Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (based on experience) Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – become an employee-owner Performance-based bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with employer match PTO, paid holidays, and sick leave Company vehicle or allowance (if applicable) Fuel card, phone, and laptop Long-term growth opportunities in both PM and estimating paths #J-18808-Ljbffr
