Be on the cutting edge! Our RNFA's are highly respected for their role in the Operating Room! As an RNFA, you would serve as the Surgical First Assistant by directly assisting the surgeon with positioning, prepping and draping the patient, controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, suturing, mobilizing tissue, and directing other surgical staff. Specialties include but are not limited to: General, Urology, Plastics, GYN, etc.

Develop and Grow Your Career! Be one of the many MLH Nurses who pursue certifications or advanced nursing degrees (BSN, MSN, MBA, PhD, DNP) by taking advantage of our Tuition Reimbursement Program! This position is eligible for up to $6,000 per year based upon your Full or Part Time status.

Get Involved! Become engaged by joining department, hospital & system-wide Nursing Committees, Unit Councils, evidence-based research projects, and pursuing the Clinical Ladder program. You can also become a preceptor for our Perioperative Fellowship Program and new hires.

Position: RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) Shift: Per diem, 6:30am - 3:00pm. Minimum of 36 hours every 6 weeks. Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in perioperative nursing practice as both scrub and circulator. Education: 1. RN Diploma, ASN required; BSN preferred. 2. Completion of a recognized RNFA Program (proof of verification required). Licensures/Certifications: 1. PA RN license OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact. 2. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required. 3. ACLS required. 4. CNOR Certification.
