Job Summary:

The Concrete Testing Field Inspector performs field testing of fresh concrete at active construction sites throughout New 

York City. The inspector will perform required testing, prepare concrete samples, document results, and coordinate with 

contractors and laboratory personnel.

Duties:

• Perform field testing of fresh concrete in accordance with applicable ASTM and project requirements.

• Perform slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight testing.

• Cast and properly label concrete cylinders for laboratory testing.

• Document test results and complete daily field reports.

• Coordinate pickup and transportation of concrete samples to the laboratory.

• Communicate testing results and field conditions to project personnel.

• Follow all company and site-specific safety requirements.

• Maintain testing equipment in proper working condition.

Education/Qualifications:

• Prior concrete testing or construction inspection experience preferred.

• Ability to complete accurate field reports and testing documentation.

• Ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites.

• Ability to lift and transport concrete testing equipment and samples.

• Reliable and able to travel to project sites throughout New York City.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Required: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I.

• Required: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.

• Required: NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Card, where applicable.

• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Requirements:

• Ability to travel to construction sites throughout New York City.

• Flexible schedule based on concrete placement and project requirements.

• Early morning, evening, or weekend work may occasionally be required.
