External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.Your Role:MilliporeSigma in Burlington, MA, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the North America Validation Services Laboratory. This laboratory-based position will report directly to the Lab Manager and provide support across all laboratory departments.Responsibilities:Oversee the decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of laboratory materials.Keep the sterile material inventory complete and organized, including conducting regular inventories.Prepare materials for autoclaving, ensuring proper wrapping and labeling. Operate autoclaves and dishwashing machines following established procedures, while complying with all regulatory and company policies regarding sterilization processes.Load and unload materials into the autoclave for sterilization.Monitor sterilization cycles to ensure proper operation and effectiveness. Record and document sterilization parameters and results accurately.Perform biological and chemical indicator tests to verify sterilization efficacy.Ensure proper storage of sterilized materials.Dispose of biohazardous waste in accordance with safety protocols.Compile and submit reports on sterilization activities and outcomes.Future opportunity to manage media sterility and conduct growth promotion tests as well as prepare laboratory media and reagentsWho You Are:Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED and 2+ years laboratory experienceORBachelor's degree in any Scientific fieldPreferred Qualifications:Strong communication skills are essential for effectively updating the lab team, VPM team, lab managers, and QA personnel on project-dependent itemsProficient in Aseptic Technique and good laboratory practicesFamiliarity with sterilization procedures and safety protocol.Understanding of Data Integrity and Good Documentation PracticesCommitment to achieving results accurately and efficientlyExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesCapacity to comprehend and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocolsPragmatic and results-oriented approach to tasksDemonstrates curiosity and a willingness to learnAbility to adapt to changes in processes, tools, and organizational structuresStrong team spirit and respectful interpersonal behaviorPay Range for this position: $23.00 - $36.00/hourThe offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
