Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions focused on enhancing speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure unified care.
- Provide education to patients and their families to foster ongoing progress in non-clinical settings.
- Support the occasional inpatient service with speech therapy evaluations and treatments to ensure seamless continuity in care.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continual professional development and peer collaboration to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
