Job Opportunity

Position: ICU RN (Days)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team for day shifts. This position will require the nurse to work a 3x12-hour schedule from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, with every other weekend required. The start dates for this position are either October 13 or October 27.

Responsibilities

The ICU RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
• Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring.
• Administration of IV medications and blood products.
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients.
• Assisting with procedures such as chest tube insertion and removal.
• Performing assessments and interpretations of dysrhythmias.
• Monitoring for signs of infection and adhering to isolation precautions.
• Understanding and implementing protocols for acute stroke management.
• Participating in interdisciplinary teamwork and communication.
• Floating to telemetry and medical-surgical units as required.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

• Active RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting
• Familiarity with Meditech charting system preferred
• Ability to manage a 2:1 patient ratio

Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• IV access and management (including PICC lines and arterial lines)
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytic management
• Understanding of hypothermia protocols and neuromuscular blockade
• Clinical knowledge in handling acute stroke and traumatic brain injury cases
• Post-operative care for neurosurgery and GI surgery patients
