Family-owned since 1972 and employee-owned through an ESOP, we are a regional school music dealer serving students across eight stores in North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. We rent and sell instruments, support school music programs, and stand behind the educators and families who make music education possible. Here, our team members are owners - and we measure success by the students we help reach. The Role We are looking for a hands-on Controller to join our leadership team in Bismarck. Reporting to the President and partnering closely with our CFO, you will own the integrity of our accounting and financial reporting, guide budgeting and cash management, and serve as a trusted financial partner to every part of the business. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a clear path to grow alongside a stable, mission-driven company. What You’ll Do Own the monthly close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Build and maintain income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow projections Develop and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Lead tax planning and coordinate the annual external audit Oversee ESOP valuation, reporting, and related transactions Provide proactive analysis and support to Sales & Marketing, Operations, and Finance Support budgeting, payroll, and benefits administration Lead and develop the accounting, HR, and IT staff Advise the President, CFO, Board, and leadership team on financial strategy Why Eckroth Be an owner - every team member shares in our success through our ESOP A seat at the leadership table and a direct hand in the company's direction The stability of a 50-year company with the mindset of a business still growing Work that matters - you help put instruments in the hands of students every day Salary range $100,000 - $130,000; Bonus; Medical, Dental, Vision insurance; PTO / Supplemental Sick Leave, EAP, 401K, Participate in Eckroth Music Ownership Plan (ESOP) What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA strongly preferred) 7+ years leading accounting functions and managing a team Strong technology skills paired with practical business acumen Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent written and verbal communication Experience in a family-owned, privately held, or employee-owned business is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
