Position Summary Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency respiratory care services across the hospital. In this role, you will assess patient needs, administer respiratory therapies, monitor treatment effectiveness, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to deliver exceptional patient care. We welcome experienced respiratory therapists and new graduates who are ready to launch their career in acute care. What You'll Do Assess respiratory status and provide individualized respiratory care Administer oxygen, aerosol, medication, and airway clearance therapies Perform diagnostic testing and monitor patient response to treatment Support mechanical ventilation management and respiratory interventions Interpret physician orders and implement respiratory care plans Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately Participate in emergency and resuscitation situations when needed Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records Schedule Full-time Day shift Three 12-hour shifts per week Qualifications Education Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program with a Diploma or Associate's degree Or meet qualifications under the Illinois Respiratory Care Practice Act grandfather clause Licensure & Certifications Current Illinois Respiratory Therapist license required Current BLS certification required NBRC credential required (or qualification under Illinois grandfather provisions) ACLS certification required Experience Previous respiratory therapy experience preferred New graduates welcome to apply Why Join Gateway?
