Patient Care Tech / Unit Secretary – Post Surgical Unit As a Patient Care Technician / Unit Secretary, you will interface with visitors, patients, families, and physicians on phone and in person at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital and Outpatient Center. Responsibilities Perform clerical duties including distribution of messages. Assist patients with clinical tasks under the direction of an RN or LVN, e.g., helping patients to the restroom, removing IV catheters. Clean patient rooms as needed. Assist RNs as instructed. Perform any additional duties as instructed by supervisor. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Licensure/Certification Certified Nurse Assistant Certification or equivalent. BLS required. Required Experience Minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting preferred. Previous experience with Electronic Healthcare Record helpful. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good communication and people skills. Excellent clinical skills appropriate for a medical assistant, nursing assistant or patient care tech.
