Location: Putnam, CTJob Summary:The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure successful execution and management of dewatering, bypass pumping or trenching projects as assigned by the Operations Manager, Division Leader or Branch Manager. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring projects are completed successfully, on-time, within budget and without injury. Above all, the Project Manager must strive to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction, while always working to protect the company’s best interest and serving as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Act as the primary point of contact for customers, always providing prompt responses to customer inquiries, and communicating with Project Managers from the customer and other contractors on siteDrive projects from start to finish, coordinate the procurement and assignment of people and equipment needed to perform the workEnsure proper documentation and agreements are executed and on file prior to beginning workEnsure proper inventory management on all assigned projects, making sure that all inventory is properly allocated to the project in MDI so we can bill for everything we doUnderstand the expectations of the project and requirements of the contract, and ensure compliance with those requirements; attend progress meetings and critical issue meetings, prepare notes or reports as necessary and inform the Branch leadership team of any major issuesMaintain a continuous presence on projects while operational activities are being conducted, working with Crew Leaders to ensure proper execution of project specs and to resolve field and equipment issuesEnsure all daily progress reports (Driller Reports, Wellpoint Reports, Pump Water Reports, etc.) are filed in the project folder in a timely mannerIdentify opportunities to build jobs and up-sell customers on additional products and services as needs arise on the projectCoordinate with the Safety Department to ensure safety programs and requirements are strictly followed on all projects, tracking all safety activities and issues including daily JSAsDocument and track all project progress, changes, and issues; communicate and inform the progress of all issues to the Branch leadership teamParticipate in estimating projects and the development of proposals for specific customer requirementsPrepare and submit billable charges forms as outlined in the Invoicing ProcedureAssist in the collection process as needed to ensure the collection of payments owedEnsure implementation of company close-out procedures at the end of a projectAttend industry functions to help promote the image and recognition of the companyAdhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standardsEnsure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activitiesQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, construction engineering or related field, or an equivalent amount of experience in construction project managementKnowledge and understanding of budgets, cost accounting, estimating, bidding procedures, and contract documentsKnowledge of OSHA and safety regulationsSupervisory experience in managing multiple teamsSkills in workflow analysis and managementExcellent written and verbal communication and documentation skillsExcellent leadership and problem-solving skillsAbility to read schematics, blueprints and/or technical manualsProficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Power Point is a plusSpecific Expectations:Ability to work effectively with othersAbility to multi-task in a changing environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirementsAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesStrong time management and organizational skillsRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkwardDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
