Job Title: HVAC Installer

Job Description

The HVAC Installer is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in new construction projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, precise workmanship, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other construction professionals to ensure all systems are installed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, schematics, and specifications to determine equipment layout, materials needed, and installation sequence.

• Perform rough-in work by laying out and installing duct systems, vents, bath fans, returns, and line sets according to design specifications and state and local codes.

• Perform finish work by setting and mounting air handlers, furnaces, condensers, HRVs/ERVs, thermostats, grilles, registers, and accessories, ensuring proper airflow and system operation.

• Install and connect refrigerant piping, condensate drains, and low-voltage and equipment wiring in accordance with diagrams, codes, and safety standards.

• Measure and determine ductwork and piping requirements; cut, fit, and assemble materials to size as required for each project.

• Collaborate with the project foreman and other trades on-site to coordinate tasks, avoid conflicts, and support cohesive project execution.

• Comply with all safety standards and regulations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Verify that all installations meet safety, mechanical, and building code requirements and function as designed.

• Use technical manuals and documentation to guide installation, troubleshooting, and configuration of HVAC systems.

• Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project completion.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a small to medium-sized shop and on active new construction job sites. Most of the tools required for the job are supplied, and you will typically ride with and work alongside another technician, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The role involves hands-on work with HVAC equipment, ductwork, and related materials in varying site conditions, so you should be comfortable working in construction settings and adapting to different project locations and layouts.

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
