Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cath Lab RN provides direct patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP setting, assisting with invasive cardiology procedures from pre-assessment through recovery. This role circulates and monitors patients, ensuring safe delivery of conscious sedation and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Perform IV starts and maintain medication administration readiness for procedures.
• Circulate during cardiac cath/EP cases while supporting sterile workflow and team coordination.
• Monitor and document patient status using telemetry and routine post-procedure assessments.
• Support conscious sedation by observing clinical responses and escalating concerns promptly.
• Prepare, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment and supplies to support timely case progression.
• Complete accurate charting in Cerner/Soarian or McKesson Cardiology and ensure compliance with EMR documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no pending licensure required unless process documentation is provided.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Maintain current ACLS certification.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent Cath Lab experience.
• Demonstrate experience with IV starts, circulation workflow, and telemetry monitoring.
• Provide evidence of recent travel competency (travel experience preferred) and familiarity with EMR documentation (Cerner Soarian/McKesson Cardiology preferred).
