Travel Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Overland Park, Kansas

This opportunity is ideal for nurses passionate about adult medical-surgical and telemetry care. Working in a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients who require more physical assistance, such as frequent two-person assist for mobility. You'll collaborate with skilled teams and expand your expertise across general surgery, gynecology, urology, and orthopedics, while refining your proficiency in telemetry interpretation, Heparin drips, TPN, and PCA management-all within a supportive, resourceful environment.


Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts: 1900-0730
• 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years recent hospital telemetry experience (last 18 months)
• Experience with a 5:1 RN ratio
• Background in General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, and Orthopedics
• Proficient with cellulitis, back pain, kidney stones
• Skilled in Heparin drips, TPN, PCA, telemetry rhythm interpretation
• Active KS or Compact RN license, ACLS & BLS
• Not accepting new graduates

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a med/surg/telemetry setting
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, often requiring two-person help
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage infusions, and document in EPIC EMR
• Float to other acute care units as needed
• Participate in a multi-day orientation program
