About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cath Lab, experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab required. License: New York state license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required. Description: The unit accepts first-time travelers. RNs will be scheduled for a 4-day work week. Average of 8-10 call shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends per month, based on the schedule. Pending licenses are not accepted. Local candidates are not eligible. Candidates are required to float between units. Patients include those requiring cardiac catheterizations and interventional radiology procedures. RNs should possess skills in various procedures, including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and interventional catheterizations. Familiarity with EPIC charting system is a requirement. RNs must be competent in infection prevention and monitoring procedural sedation. The role also includes various interventional procedures such as nephrostomy, pulmonary angiography, and central venous access. Key responsibilities involve preparing patients, assisting in procedures, and post-procedure monitoring. The unit consists of a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary support services. Knowledge of emergency medications and procedural sedation monitoring is essential. Candidates should be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and care for implanted ports.
