Key responsibilities Identify, track, and analyze fraud risk; review technologies and tactics in the banking and payments sectors: plan, develop, or approve project management documentation for new technology initiatives identify fraud risk trends with a focus on mid and small bank operational capabilities and needs engage large bank members in technology strategies and practices lead assessment of technology resources as a fraud and community bank subject matter expert implement the strategy to develop new tools and capabilities to counter fraud that result in products and services for banks Develop and/or improve fraud-related member engagement opportunities: create strategic objectives for the expansion of ABA member opportunities to include new, developing, and existing fraud programs at multiple bank tiers work with membership engagement, media and marketing to execute fraud risk management opportunities. provide member-facing education on current fraud trends, practices and emerging risks manage and develop budgets related to member engagement opportunities as assigned Lead various Committees, Subcommittees and Working Groups. Develop agendas, secure speakers, document discussions, and fulfill actions resulting from calls and in-person meetings in addition to: expand community banking opportunities through the development or modification of committees and working groups lead groups dedicated to responding to agency and/or other governmental inquiries or activity related to fraud and scam activities monitor bank interaction in committees and working groups for compliance with ABA standards represent ABA as the subject matter expert in fraud-related matters in interagency efforts and discussion forums Develop and maintain member and partner guides and tools: supervise production of toolkits, guides, and infographics identify and review academic and industry research to inform fraud risk mitigation and operational activity Supervise vendor engagements and internal technology development activity. Requirements Experience in a managerial-level role for a financial institution strongly preferred. 10 + years of operational experience in fraud risk management, fraud compliance, or fraud response. Experience with the development and/or management of operational procedures and processes within a fraud department to detect/prevent suspicious activity. Experience managing fraud risk review systems. Excellent communication and editing skills. Ability to work independently as well as with a variety of members and staff at all levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to non-technical audiences. Ability to effectively manage senior-level banker task forces and working groups. Ability to see and articulate emerging issues of industry importance. Ability to develop successful professional relationships with senior regulatory staff. Experience with strategy development and project management. Preferred Experience: Experience leading onboarding activity for fraud technology, such as, developing standards, budget, system assessment, and coordination with internal technology stakeholders. Experience leading fraud or risk-related presentations in a live or virtual environment.
