RN Specialty Clinic - Endocrinology Diabetic Nurse Educator (F/T Days)

Position OverviewJoin Mercy St. Louis as a Diabetic Educator focused on shared medical appointments for diabetes remission. The role involves working closely with patients to educate, empower, and support them toward remission, collaborating with the endocrinologist to implement strategies and interventions, and contributing to national conference presentations. The position is limited to daytime hours with no evenings, weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive diabetes education through group and individual appointments.Guide patients on nutrition, exercise, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.Monitor patient progress and adjust education plans accordingly.Collaborate with the endocrinologist to implement shared decision‑making strategies.Assist in presenting diabetes remission data at national conferences.Maintain accurate clinical documentation and assist the physician with related paperwork.Operate equipment related to the specialty of care.Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.QualificationsGraduation from an accredited nursing school.Current valid state nursing license.CPR certification or completion within 90 days of employment.Certified Diabetic Nurse Educator (DNE) credential.Knowledge of nursing principles, medications, patient education, self‑care programs, and safety practices.Proficiency with basic computer terminal and keyboard skills.Ability to communicate clearly and establish effective relationships with patients, staff, and the public.Experience in interpreting, adapting, and applying clinical guidelines and policies.BenefitsDay‑one comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage.Paid time off (PTO).Tuition reimbursement.Employer‑matched retirement contributions.Benefits applicable to workers with 32 or more hours per pay period.Mercy is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
