A boutique law firm in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 2-4 years of experience who enjoys litigation, values hands-on responsibility, and is looking to join a collaborative and supportive legal environment.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate and commercial litigation matters, with the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work and grow within a boutique practice.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare corporate documents and contracts
• Conduct legal research and draft briefs
• Prepare and argue motions
• Handle fact and expert discovery
• Take and defend depositions
• Assist with trial preparation
• Support a variety of corporate and commercial litigation matters
• Contribute as a collaborative member of a small legal team

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant corporate and commercial litigation experience
• Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment
• Creative, competitive, resourceful, and accountable approach to legal practice
• Insurance defense experience is a plus

Billable Requirement

• 150-160 hours per month

Compensation

• Salary range: $100,000-$150,000 , depending on experience and business development/book of business potential
• Bonus opportunities available
• Merit-based raises available
