Overview Good Samaritan Nursing & Rehabilitation, located in Sayville, NY, is a 100-bed skilled nursing facility that has received five stars from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for long‑stay quality measures. Responsibilities Respond appropriately to the special needs of each group served – age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, developmental or cognitive disabilities, and physical and developmental disabilities. Aid in the orientation of new employees. Set up and check resident trays accurately; properly set up tray line stations as assigned. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance; follow diet extensions / portion control. Follow sanitation policies for handling and storing food to minimize cross-contamination. Properly set up beverage carts and assist with special events as assigned. Work satisfactorily at the dishroom station; record dishwasher temperatures. Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving during breaks and at the end of the work day. Clean and sanitize all equipment according to policy. Complete assignments within allotted time and adjust to changes and re‑assignments. Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when handling supplies and equipment. Follow established policies and procedures for using personal protective equipment. Have knowledge of MSDS. Familiar with the department and facility Performance Improvement Projects. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Basic computer skills. Able to follow written and verbal directions with basic literacy in English. Salary Range USD $21.50 – $27.00 per hour.
